The Rails 8 Way

Together with Obie Fernandez and Tom Henrik Aadland, I’m currently writing three books:

• The Rails 8 Way (complete)
• Rails Way: ActiveRecord Deep Dive (almost content complete)
• Building Progressive Web Apps with Rails (just getting started)

The Rails Way series has been voted multiple times as a must-read for Rails developers. The most recent example is the 2024 Ruby on Rails Community Survey.

The covers are designed by Studio Rohrspatz and based on

• a photo of grey and brown dock by Max Lawton (The Rails 8 Way)
• a photo of an elephant by Geranimo (Rails Way: ActiveRecord Deep Dive)

both published under the Unsplash License. The font used is Fixel by MacPaw published under the Open Font License.

The Rails 6 and 7 Way

With the same two authors, I worked on The Rails 6 Way, and then The Rails 7 Way. The cover is drawn by Dirk Breuer.
